LIAM MCCALMON, a fifth grade student at Agathos Classical School in Columbia, TN, has used a devastating diagnosis to glorify God and help his school. One week before starting fourth grade, Liam was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of soft tissue cancer. When he was contacted by the Make-a-Wish foundation, he had a creative request: a new building for his school where all Agathos students could be together. When the foundation said that was too big of a request, Liam asked for furnishings for their new building—the building that hasn’t been built yet. Liam set out to raise money for that building, and has raised $33,000. The school continues to raise funds and has begun to contact construction companies. Make-a-Wish will provide the furniture when the building project is complete. ✤
